The medical and paramedical professionals have all been from the staff of the Birth Defects Center and many parents feel that this is an important factor..
“After a doctor speaks at our meeting,” says one mother, “we have a little closer feeling to him. It becomes easier to ask questions. I suppose it’s because here we^re people, not just the patient’s parents.”
The relationship can be reciprocal. Many of the Center, staff members feel they have learned more about the family problems through discussions at the meetings.
