A graveside funeral serfice for former Seventh District Congressman Burr P. Harrison was conducted in Winchester Monday, December 31, in Mount Hebron Cemetery by the Rev. Clifford Shane.
The eight - term Congressman died early December 29, 1973.
He was born in Winchester and attended public schools along with Woodberry Forest, Virginia Military Institute, Hampton-Sydney College and the University of Virginia. He graduated from Georgetown University Law School in 1926 and was admitted to the bar the same year, beginning his practice in Winchester.
