SINCE LAST reporting, a number of traffic crashes and collisions have occurred, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin.
TUESDAY morning at 5 a.m. Dale Owens of Stanley driving a 1972 Ford Pickup struck and killed a 10-point deer east of Washington on Route 211. Probable damage to his truck was $500.
Owens said he had been hunting several time and failed to have any luck, so he was eager to keep the animal’s head and rack, said the officer.
Ronald Davidson Hawkins of Washington, operating a 69 Ford, struck a 65 Plymouth driven by Scott Willard Sautter of Fairfax on Route 622 December 19. Hawkins applied his brakes, skidded on ice and struck the Sautter vehicle.
