AMONG THE things that concerned him, Lyne said, are “discrepancies” between the zoning and subdivision ordinances. “I think the zoning ordinance should deal with land use only and.the subdivision ordinance only with the division of land.”
Lyne said this would help eliminate what he saw as “discrepancies,” where the two statutes cover the same topic and often with conflicting statements.
Newbill Miller said the two ordinances were written with exactly that distinction in mind. But perhaps some overlap occured on one or two points and need revision, he said.
Miller emphasized the “separateness” of the two ordinances by pointing out that the subdivision administrator was responsible to the Board of Supervisors and the Board of Zoning Appeals is under the Circuit Court.
