THE BUILDING trades class at Rappahannock County High School is a program to prepare students to enter the construction industry with sufficient skills in several related trades to enable him to be a competent helper to a skilled tradesman. It is believed that the building trades course will serve the student through the development of practical skills, gaining of technical knowledge, development of good work habits and good social habits and attitudes.
Hopefully, the student will develop attitudes which are conducive to good citizenship and encourage a desire through particular work interests to continue his education and training until employment. ^
The program is taught by David Stalker who received his BS degree in industrial arts education from East Tennessee State University. He has also attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond studying architectural drafting and design. Before coming to Rappahannock County, Mr. Stalker-was employed with the Virginia Beach Public School System.□
