Don Askew, resident engineer for the Highway Department, told the Supervisors that he’d received confirmation on the secondary road fund allocation. “We will have $502,096, an increase of $11,011 over last year.”
“That doesn’t keep up with inflation,” one of the Supervisors commented. “Hardly,” Askew agreed, shaking his head.
The engineer said $256,016 would be spent for construction improvements and the rest would be used for maintenance, such as mowing.
