and those cared for by the Family Practice Unit as out-patients. These services are widely used by Rappahannock citizens. During the most recent five-year period 881 Hospital in-patients were registered from Rappahannock County.

CONSTRUCTION is well advanced on a new wing for Culpeper Hospital which will add 60 beds, all in private rooms, plus supporting facilities and services. Thirty-two of the added rooms are earmarked for intermediate and extended nursing home care, with full hospital resources available, and at rates substantially below acute care requirements. The new wing is scheduled to begin operation in June 1975, shortly after the target construction completion date.

Culpeper Memorial’s expansion program is costing $4.5 million, financed by a $3.6 million construction mortgage with the balance funded by a Hill-Burton federal grant, the last of its kind made in Virginia. The Hospital seeks $1.5 million in five-year
