“REMEMBER THE SABBATH day to keep, it holy.” In the book of Jasher it reads thus: “Ye shall set apart every seventh day as a day of rest, thou shalt not work therein, thou, thy wife etc." Now was this law a direct edict from God, inspired by God or just good common sense. Moses and the’ seventy elders, under God’s direction, compiled some very good rules for those earlv\ Jews.

Is one day out of every seven, set apart as a day of rest, unreasonable? Jesus observed the Sabbath but modified some ol' the laws pertaining thereto. He recognized the need of the body to have rest. We are not so astute, we think we can defy divine and health laws with impunity. Not so, there is a breaking down of the body, the mental and spiritual life when we do not observe God’s laws.

One woman said she wanted the Blue Law repealed so she could go shopping with her husband on Sunday. I wonder if she tried shopping on Saturday and going to church with him on Sunday?

I am not such a stickler for holy days, that is setting apart one day from another as a HOLY day; all days are holy in the sense that' God made them. No one knows when the first day dawned or the proper sequence of days. God gave to the creature man an intellect that had the power to reason. He gave to man certain laws; we call divine, for our guidance. Without those laws we would retrogress into savagery.

Maybe the early Christians made’a terrible mistake when they dropped the Jewish Sabbath and substituted Sunday. It should be Son Day, but maybe we would hold more reverence for a day we felt was ordained of God. What is a BLUE Law;*"blue" to whom? T) those who want no restraint? This is supposed to be a Christian nation. W ith that in mind let us retain one day out of seven
