Lions officials

visit local club

For a dinner meeting of the Rappahannock Lions Club on Wednesday, Oetober 9, at Hampton Inn, the Club had several distinguished guests.

They were the District Governor, John Smith; District Deputy Governor J.O. Ward; District Secretary Wallace George; Zone Chairman Elmer O’Bannon, and Jon Elkins of Manassas Lions Club.

Also attending were two guests from the local community—Ollie Atkins and Howard W. Holschuh.

Benson Fruit cakes are now available from any member; also brooms. “Support your Lions Club. The sight you save may be your own,’’ said a club spokesman.□

PUBLIC SUPPER

A ham and turkey dinner and “all the trimmings” will be served Saturday, October 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Chester Gap fire hall. Dinneris $2.50 for adults, $1.50 for those under 12. Proceeds - to go to the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. □
