The 1974 Fall meeting of the Blue Ridge Mountain Estates Civic and Development Corp. will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 26, in the Chester Gap fire hall, followed by a dinner served by the Ladies Auxiliary.
Halloween party
The AmissvilleRuritan Club will sponsor a Halloween Party for the community of Amissville on Thursday, October 31 beginning at 7 p.m. at the old fire hall in Amissville. Games will be featured and refreshments served. Costumes will be judged in all age groups and prizes will be awarded, according to Robert B. Settle, chairman of the Recreation Committee of the Ruritan Club.D

Miss Lavetta Fraley, Home Economist for Potomac Edison Company, presented a “Be A Watt Miser” program for the Rappahannock Willing Workers Homemakers Club on October 16. She emphasized that “conservation of our natural resources through the wise use of energy is of great importance to everyone.”
With charts, Miss Fraley emphasized the proper use and care of equipment to gain useful life and service “without wasting electrical energy.” She numerated ways to make more efficient use of major and portable appliances.
