TWO Rappahannock residents were fatally injured Saturday evening in a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup on Route 729 south of Ben Venue.
The victims were Floyd Brown Hitt, 45, of Amissville and Dorothy Poehler, 31, of Washington, Va. They were riding a 350 Honda which crashed into a 73 Chevrolet pickup driven by C.W. Fannon Jr. of Castleton, according to Trooper R.A. Baines. The officer reported that the truck had pulled far to the right of the road to avoid the bike when it collided with the pickup.
