FIRE, RESCUE
Washington Fire Department answered two calls to brush fires this week. February 28 they were called to a fire on Mt. Salem Road but help was not needed and March 1 they answered a call to Peyton Farms. The Washington Rescue Squad carried Goose Pullen from the jail to Warren Memorial Hospital.
Flint Hill Fire Department also responded to the fire at Peyton Farms Estates Saturday. The rescue squad carried JoAnn Clatterbuck from the Point to Point Races at Sperryville to Culpeper Memorial Hospital Saturday.
Sperryville Rescue Squad answered a call on the mountain to a busload of children from Luray who had been exposed to carbon monoxide and carried John Case, David Good, and Richard Welch to Page Memorial Hospital.
