“THE USE of land that had not been in wheat production and lack of understanding about the onion bublets led to last year’s garlicky wheat concerns,” said the Commissioner. “All extension agents have information on proper recommendations for garlicky control in wheat.”
Virginia has a prospective production for 1975 of 11.2 million bushels, 10 per cent above the 1974 crop and the largest since the 1931 crop of 13.4 million bushels produced from 609,000 acres. The State’s 1974 wheat production of 10.2 million bushels was valued at a record high of $33.6 million. □
