RAPPAHANNOCK County wants its own, independent appraisal before a former University of Virginia extension school in Madison is sold. '
The county’s Supervisors decided at their March 6 meeting that they owe it to the taxpayers who contributed to the cost of the original school building to make sure top dollar is realized if the unused building is now sold, which UVa recommends. The school building was built originally as a joint venture of a number of area counties. Rappahannock at that , time contributed $5,000; Madison, Culpeper and Orange $10,000 a• piece; and Greene $5,000. ! Commonwealth’s Attorney George Davis also thought it would £ be a good idea for the Supervisors to personally visit the school to see u what was being sold.
