Estes, a Culpeper native, was formerly a deputy of the Sheriff’s Department here. His military service was with the U. S. Air Force. While a deputy he completed a basic police training course. He is married to the former Vivian Marie Henry and they have three children, Ginger, Robin and Everett, Jr.
THE second contested county seat is that of Commissioner of the Revenue with incumbent Virginia D. Smith having Marilyn M errill Bailey as an opponent. Both reside in the Washington area.
Mrs. Smith, who worked for 15 years as Deputy in the office, has served one term as Commissioner since she was elected in 1971. She came here from Alexandria with her husband Harry Lee Smith after his retirement from the U. S. Navy. She attended Temple Business School. The Smiths have two grown daughters, Mollie and Lee. Mrs. Bailey is a native of Rappahannock, married to Leon Bailey
