Dear Friend and Neighbor of Rappahannock: October and November are Rappahannock Mental Health Association months! What does this mean? It means that during these months the good people of Rappahannock Community are asked to search their consciences and their pocketbooks for their best and most honest commitment to our Rappahannock Mental Health Association by supporting us. The need is great and urgent. To keep pace with the growing Mental Health care needs of our county, your Mental Health Association must promote and support many new and additional services to our citizens. The April 1975 initiation of the Satellite Mental Health Clinic is but one example.
The Mental Health Association of your county assists the Department of Welfare, the Rappahannock Public School System, the Public Health Department, as well as doctors, ministers and self-referrals, in providing professional psychiatric attention to needy patients. Aftercare treatment for post-hospital cases is provided. Payment is made according to a sliding scale based on income. No one is turned away because of lack of money.
