May-Colonial May Day by Rappahannock
County Elementary School children. June-Pageant, “Let Freedom Ring,” commemorating two hundred years. July-Fourth, all day and evening celebration. Volunteers for this event and suggestions are invited.
August-First Sunday, walking candlelight tour in the Town of Washington, celebrating the surveying of the town by George Washington in 1749.
September-Souvenir bicentennial copy of the Rappahannock News.
October-Dried flower sale and house tour, third weekend.
November-Thanksgiving tour of all Rappahannock County churches.
December-Christmas week, carol singing in county villages; childrens party at the Rappahannock County Library.
Costumes will be used in all events.
Opening hunt
The opening meet for the Rappahannock Hunt is scheduled for this Saturday, November 1 at 9 a.m. The field will leave from Stonehaven, farm of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Muth near Woodville.
Hunts are scheduled for each Wednesday and Saturday during November and on Thursday, 27th at 9:30 a.m. and will leave from various points. The schedule follows:
