The Rev. William R. Snead of Culpeper has accepted the pastorate of the Washington Baptist Church and will also act as superintendent of the Sunday School. Services are scheduled for every Sunday at 11 a.m., except fifth Sundays.
Rev. Snead is a native of Covington and received his early education there. He was graduated from the University of Richmond in 1944 receiving a B. A. degree majoring in Psychology. He attended Crozer Theological Seminary (now Colgate Rochester Divinity School)in Rochester, receiving a B. D. degree in 1947. He has been a special student at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School. He was named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
Rev. Snead’s work experience includes teaching high school in Covington, holding pastorates in Culpeper and Orange counties, and in Richmond. He was assistant superintendent later administrator of the Virginia Baptist Home in Culpeper.
He is married to the former Eileen Borden Peck of Fincastle and they have three children, Annie Grace, Billy and David.□
