prices ranged 9 to 16 cents lower, mostly 10 to 15 cents lower. Soybeans were 25 to 40 cents lower, mostly 35 to 40 cents lower. Light trade activity at the producer level continued as prices moved lower. Domestic and export demand was also very light.
Harvesting of corn and soybeans continued at a rapid pace throughout most of the southeast area.
Bids to corn producers at southeast Virginia points were 10 to 13 cents lower at $2.50 to $2.73; Richmond $2.46 to $2.51; and Wilson, N.C., prices dropped 9 cents to $2.60. Louisville, Ky., dropped 11 cents at $2.48 to $2.55. Ohio Valley points were 16 cents lower at $2.34 to $2.43. Alabama trucklot prices closed at $2.79-1/4 to $2.85; and Georgia multi-carlot prices were 15 cents lower at $2.78 to $2.80. Terminal prices at Memphis were $2.79 to $2.89 and Norfolk $2.71.
