The Virginia State Police Department’s investigative division has completed a successful first year, according to Superintendent Harold W. Burgess. This division made 4,040 arrests and brought 3,793 of its 4,186 cases to a successful conclusion said the superintendent’s report.
This division had received criticism earlier from the General Assembly when the House Militia and Police Committee said that it was intended that the group would become a specialized force to deal with sophisticated white-collar crime.
