Well, let’s start off on a high note with some good sports news! First, our girls basketball teams won their first games of the season with William Monroe High School. Our J. V.’s won with a final score of 25-11. The leading scorers that night were Rhonda Estes, Christine Nicholson and Joyce Smith, each with 6 points, and Patsy Vest had 4. Rhonda and Christine were also out front on the rebounds.
Our Varsity girls had an equally successful night winning with a score of 46 to William, Monroe’s 32 points. Faye Dunfi and Mae Dunn had 14 and 12 points respectively, Patricia Mahoney 10, Carolyn Dodson 6 and Marie Fletcher 3. Top in rebounding were Eleanor Phillips and Faye Dunn. Congratulations girls on welldeserved victories.
We’ve got a couple of cross country meets to catch up with'. On October 14 our cross country Panthers -ran against Luray and Montevideo which turned out to be their first loss of the season. Luray scored 34, Rappahannock 35 and Montevideo 53. As you can
