THE BOARD has decided there would be no merit in acquiring food service from the Marriott Corporation but there is a need to upgrade the food quality and service at the high school. On the must list is to take the food service line out of the kitchen and install a bread warming unit. Space here is a problem and the installation of a soup kettle did not seem feasible, though was considered desirable.
Mr. Norton advised the group that funds are available and that structural changes should begin right away.
Summer school personnel were approved.
A list of the personnel for the summer school program was approved and a bid for resurfacing the high school parking lot was also approved.
The school system is still seekking a reading lab teacher and teacher contracts will be issued based on the salary schedule of a 5.5% increase.
