Third Class Christopher H. Kilpatrick, son d£;'Mr. and Mrs. James J. Kilpatrick of White Walnut Hill, Woodville, has returned to the Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Va., after completing 19751976 weather patrol as a crewmember of the Coast Guard Cutter Taney.
His ship, equipped with a National Weather Service weather radar installation, is tasked with manning Ocean Weather StationHotel from August 1, to April 15, each year. Station Hotel, located approximately 200 miles east of the Virginia capes, provides an important link in the National Weather Service weather warning system. In particular, the station monitors storms threatening the Northeastern section of the U. S.
Additionally, Kilpatrick’s ship aided in search and rescue operations and assisted other cutters engaged in fisheries patrols. He is a former studpnt of Collegiate High School, Richmond, Va.
