Polo action
Activity in the Sherman Memorial Polo Tournament being held at Fannon Field at Laurel Mills has narrowed the field to four teams which competed Wednesday night, so results were not available for publication this week. Rappahannock competed with Gone Away Farm of Poolesville, Md. and Woodlawn of Fort. Belvoir met Cedar Run. The final game will be played Friday night at 8 o’clock at Fannon Field between the Wednesday night winners.
The tallies in last week’s game were: Rappahannock vs Casanova found Rappahannock the victor 16 -6 with Tony Cappola high scorer with 7 points and Bill Fannon netted 6. Cedar Run faced Farmington with respective scores, 7-6. Jack Eicher was high man for Cedar Run with 5 goals.
Middleburg topped Woodlawn with a 12-11 score. Ted Miller and Gary Leonard each chalked up 4 points for Woodlawn while Roger Rinehart also had 4 points to make him high man for Middleburg.
