declined in May
Though visitation to Shenandoah National Park to date this calendar year is up, the month of May showed a decrease in visitors. The calendar-year total through May was 790,000 as compared to 661,100 a war ago. *
However during May there were 243,800 visitors this year while the total for May the previous year was 253,400, a decrease of 3.8%. Tlie year’s percentage increase is 19.4%.
Maximum temperature at Big Meadows in May was 71 degrees and the low temperature recorded was 26 degrees. Precipitation measured 6.25 inches in May.D
