As projects and responsibilities developed, it was necessary to arrange functions to fund these interests. In the 1960’s Ham and Turkey Dinners and Pancake Suppers were held primarily for this purpose, but the public quickly took advantage of the occasions for the excellent food and good fellowship they offered. By far, the most popular of these dinners has been the pitcooked barbecue held around July 4th. Each year 300 to 400 guests have been intrigued with the invitation to come and “eat all you can”.
