Aubrey Keyser, Chairman of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee declared the Spring Fund Raiser on Saturday, April 30, a success. “We hoped to have about 100 people and that’s what we had,” he said. "The beautiful day brought forth not only many Democrats previously unknown to the party, but also encouraging support from Winchester and surrounding counties as far east as Arlington, cooperating in an effort to rebuild the party from the grass-roots up.”
Members of the County Committee supplied refreshments, from ham biscuits and roast beef to chicken pates and peanuts. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bird and their family helped to welcome the many who found their way to Horseshoe Hollow in Washington on Saturday evening.
