The seventh grade students at the Rappahannock Elementary School took Wednesday, April 27, to visit the Nations Capital. We had a very enjoyable time.
The first place we visited was the National Geographic Society building. It was terrific. They had the largest freefloating globe in the world! It stood eleven feet high. Wowl It was great.
We then continued our journey to the National Aquarium at the Department of Commerce where we found blind fish; fish without actual eyes. That’s neat!
After that, we had lunch at the cafeteria of the Museum of Natural History. In the front hall of the museum, there was a large stuffed African Bush Elephant. It was gigantic! They also had different halls for different things such as mammals, birds, Indians, insect zoo, and other points of interest.
