Girl Scout
Day Camp
On Monday, June 20th, at Hazel River Camp in Boston, Girl Scout Day Camp began, and camp ended on June 24th, Friday. It began and ended with a lot of fun. Girl Scouts from Rappahannock, Madison, and Culpeper attended this camp. The activities included Arts and Crafts, Swimming, Cookouts, Nature Study, Hikes, Making Friends, and a little horseback riding.
On Wednesday, June 22, the Juniors and Cadettes stayed overnight. We cooked our lunch and dinner for Wednesday and also made breakfast and lunch on Thursday. Each girl had a specific job, so that not just a few girls were doing all the work. Wednesday night at about 9 o’clock, the Juniors and Cadettes sat around the campfire. The Cadettes put on 3 or 4 skits for the Juniors and the Juniors sang and did a skit for the Cadettes. The Cadettes slept in tents.
On Thursday morning, the girls had to get up at 7 o'clock. Not too many people liked getting up that early, but we had to make breakfast.
Everyone enjoyed the Girl Scout Day Camp.
