Half-Day Classes Anticipated

Newly elected School Board Chairman Beverly Massie agreed that no firm decision had been reached yet on a kindergarten class program. “We expect enough enrollment to require four classes . . . But until we get down to the wire, we won’t be in a position to determine if we’ll have to have four (halfday, classes or two (full-day) classes,” she said.

Board member Alan Stokes interjected that the school system could realize "quite a savings” if Mrs. Kilpatrick’s suggestion was implemented. Mrs. Kilpatrick acknowledge the impossibility of ' offering regular half-day classes if kindergarten enrollment stayed under 64.
