Barksdale asked if the future impact of the sewer treatment plant on the county’s tax rate had been considered.
Self-Supporting Project
The Sperryville plant will be a self-supporting project, responded Biddle. “I can’t see that it will have any effect on the tax rate.” He added that he expected the county’s rate to go up over the next few years but not because of Sperryville’s sewage plant.
“Tei? chances to one, it will not be self-supporting in two years,” • predicted Admiral Gardner. •* “That’s right,” agreed Barksdale. “In ten years, it will be on the tax payers in Rappahannock County.”
Despite their misgivings over future * financial responsibility for the treatment plant, . both Barksdale and Gardner voted with the rest of the 'BZA members in unanimously approving the use permit issuance.^
The BZA also issued a special use permit to Josephine Z. Borkowski for a gift shop in Sperryville adjacent to the 66 gasoline station and approved detailed plans for Country Cupboards’ new cabinet and furniture shop, also to be located in Sperryville.
