The Rappahannock Planners decided at the Commission meeting last Wednesday to begin action on closing a recently discovered loophole in the county Zoning Ordinance.
Planner Newbill Miller informed the Planners at the June Commission meeting that the ordinances included no minimum lot size for RS 1 subdivisions. He warned that this omission allowed land rezoned to RS 1 to be platted in one-acre lot size instead of five acres or 25 acres if the developer put in an approved water and sewer system.

of the Subdivision Ordinance requires rezoning to a residential designation for any subdivision containing more than five lots.
