The 45 members who are on the roll, including the junior squad members, are trying to do their best to come up with this badly needed money.
“When you take into consideration how much time and money is spent on gasoline, maintenance of vehicles, construction and maintenance of the building, cost of new up-dated equipment, and most of all our free time, people forget that this is a community project and community effort, not something we get paid for,” said Rev. Hobson.
The Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue has 8 certified EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technician) and the company serves the areas of, Rock Mills, Rediviva, Harris Hollow, Tiger Valley, Five Forks, and Massies Comer, and part of Fodderstock Road.
As for the construction of the new firehouse, C.N. Mason stated, “We’ll keep working and hoping.”
