In April last, His Royal Highness Thfc Prince of Wales launched In Britain an appeal for a Silver Jubilee Trust Fund, whose proceeds were, at the Queen’s express wish, to be used "to help young people to help others”. All over Britain local Silver Jubilee celebrations have been coupled with donations to this Trust Fund, and I am glad to say that “The Queen’s Silver Jubilee Appeal (USA)” has now been formed here with The Queen’s wishes enshrined in its Deed. I have written to a number of Anglo-American clubs and organisations suggesting that they follow the example set in Britain. As the Trust’s exofficio Secretary and Treasurer I should be very glad to hear from organising bodies or individuals who would like to participate or to make a donation to the Trust.

Stocking
Suspended
Jack M. Hoffman, Chief of the Virginia Game Commission’s Fish Division has announced that all trout stocking activity (except in Douthat Lake and Big Tumbling Creek) has been suspended until at least October. Lack of rain has lowered the water levels in most trout streams, and the current long range forecast shows very little wet weather in the offing.
The trout currently on hand at the Commission’s trout rearing facilities will be held for stocking as soon as the streams return to acceptable levels.
