Lucas
Robert D. Lucas, Jr., 56, of Norfolk died July 7,1977 in a hospital there. He was the son of the late Hill Carter Lucas of Washington, Va. and Robert D. Lucas.
He was a native of Richmond, an Army veteran of World War II and was a partner of the law firm of White-Reynolds-SmithWinters Sc Lucas in Norfolk. He was a member of the Virginia State and Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Jones Lucas; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Van Hem of Richmond; a son, Robert D. Lucas III of Norfolk; a sister, Miss Judith C. Lucas of Dun Laoghaire, Ireland; a brother, Jo Desha Lucas of Chicago; and a grandchild. Judge W. F. Moffett, Jr. of Washington is a cousin.
A private funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Jennings Hobson, was held July 9 at the family cemetery near Amissville.

Charles Henry Willis of Baltimore, Md., died July 10, 1977 in St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore. He was born June 22, 1908, a son of the late Walter Alfred and Mary Riley Willis.
