Heat Stroke Is Serious
Far more serious is heat stroke. Stroke can damage the brain, liver and heart, and happens when sweating stops and body heat builds up to intolerable levels—for some up to 110 degrees. Stroke victims should be removed from the sunshine, wrapped in a cold towel or made cool as rapidly as possible, and taken to a hospital immediately.
But stroke can be avoided by common sense. “When out on the beach or exercising, you should notice how much you are sweating. If you stop sweating, then you’re in trouble and should stop exercising, get out of the heat and consume fluids.”
