Miss Mary Corder Hudson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herndon C. Hudson of Washington became the bride of Cecil F. Smoot on Friday, July 8, 1977 in the Washington Baptist Church. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Smoot of Sperryville.
The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. B. G. Titchenell at seven o’clock. Organist was Mrs. Paul Miller of Flint Hill who presented a program of music including the traditional wedding marches.
The church was decorated with arrangements of painted daisies and babies breath and lighted candelabra.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white organza styled with a high neckline and long bishop sleeves. Chantilly lace enhanced the bodice accented by tiny seed pearls. Trellises of lace and motifs adorned the A-line skirt which fell from a modified empire waist into a. chapel train. She had a matching lace mantilla with an imported illusion train. Her flowers were painted daisies, white roses and babies breath held with long streamers.
Miss Sandra Hudson was maid of honor for her sister. Her long gown was of pink dotted swiss fashioned with long sleeves and V-neckline edged in lace. A wide ruffle edged in lace encircled the hemline. She wore a matching picture hat, and carried a bouquet of pink and white daisies with streamers.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Rachel Smoot of Washington, Mrs. Judy Pullen of Amissville, Miss Vickie Smoot, Sperryville and Miss Brenda Menefee of Warrenton, cousin of the
