Spring has finally come to Rappahannock County in all its glory. Its woodlands and fields—including J. W. Fletcher’s picturesque Thornton Hill Farm, scene of the Rappahannock Point-toPoint racecourse—are in their most beautiful spring colors. The Rappahannock Point-to-Point races, twice postponed due to bad weather, are now firmly set for Saturday. May 20.
This year’s meeting will be the 29th running of the Rappahannock races. The 10 race card will end with the famous Hound Race which draws Virginia’s top foxhpunds in a spirited drag race. This event, always a favorite, has traditionally symbolized the special flavor of the Rappahannock Pointto-Points.
