On Tuesday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. the Rappahannock Library will sponsor a multimedia slide show. Presented by Byron Schumaker, Chief of the Photographic Division, U.S. Department of Agriculture, the show will consist of two timely slide sequences: ‘‘The Face of Rural America,” produced in 1976 under Mr. Schumaker’s direction, and “China Today” from film he was able to take in 1972 during President Nixon’s first trip to that country.
This special “three screen” show is made possible by an impressive array of technology. Images will be thrown onto a huge screen, sometimes singly and sometimes dissolving into as many as five separate scenes. Ten projectors produce the images. They in turn are cued by the sound tape, through punch tape programming.
