County included. To be seen are farm families to harvest pineapple in Hawaii, and maple syrup in Vermont. There are ‘‘tractor pulls” and cattle auctions, views of sheep herding and pig farming.

The second segment of the program is Byron Schumaker’s personal glimpse of China today. As a White House photographer, with the late Ollie Atkins of Rappahannock County, Mr. Schumaker had the opportunity to accompany President Nixon and to record many scenes of Chinese life, including people from various levels of society. There are scenes from farm and city, rural communes and large athletic events, the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City in Peking.

The entire program will last about one hour, after which Mr. Schumaker will be happy to answer questions. The Rappahannock Library looks for a good turn-out for this special event, so come early to be sure of seating. There is no admission charge.
