Mrs. Clark’s Christmas in August project has inspired Debra Payne, Richard Payne's 15-year-old daughter. Since her father found Greg Bright's bottle, she's convinced that river messages eventually reach their destination. So using an unbreakable plastic bottle, she has floated a note—a poem of friendship with her name and address included—down the Rappahannock. "1 just wanted to see if anyone else would answer it,” Debra said.
