Hornets and Yellow Jackets
We have received a number of calls on how to get rid of hornets and yellow' jackets' nests. An unconventional and organic method of eliminating the large grey hornets’ nest from around the yard—wait till dark. Load up the 12 guage shotgun with No. 8 shot. Stand back from the nest far enough that the shot doesn't blow the limbs off the tree, but close enough so the shot still holds a tight pattern. Fire two or three shots in rapid succession and the nest will be practically obliterated. Of course, this method is not recommended for the eaves
