Peaches

Ripening

Late

Peach lovers who overrun Rappahannock orchards in the closing weeks of summer are in luck. According to the Virginia Department of Agriculture, the state's peach crop has been approximately two weeks late in ripening this year. That means there are still plenty of peaches at local orchards. In fact, peaches will be plentiful in the next two weeks and some late varieties will be available through the first week of September. Madison, Elberta and Redskin varieties are being picked now.

+++ The foundations of the world will be shaky until the moral props are restored.
