At the close of the Washington Firemen’s Carnival Saturday night the following prizes were given away: One thousand dollars went to William Lynn of Washington and second prize of $250 was awarded Edith Cave, also of Washington. A $100 third prize went to Mary A. Hitt of Woodville. More than 20 donated prizes were also given away. The Washington Volunteer Fire Department expressed appreciation to all who helped make the carnival a success. A special thanks is extended The Inn at Little Washington and William Carrigan for their donations for gifts and flowers for the queen contest.
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary announced the winner of the farm bell which was given away Saturday night. The bell, donated by Sperryville Emporium, was awarded Tanya Brown of Woodville.
