According to colonel Mane, the program indicated the CB radios were compatible with other police communication equipment and were particularly helpful relative to motorists who needed assistance.
Colonel Slane said that as a result of the successful pilot program, the Department had begun installing CB radios in State Police vehicles as funds became available. In the interim, troopers are permitted to utilize their personal CB radios if desired.
Governor Dalton in his Certificate of Recognition noted that citizens band organizations, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Inc. had also set aside October 4 as 10-4CB Recognition Day.
