The seniors at R.C.H.S. have started to order invitations and thank-you notes for their graduation which they are looking forward to.
There is a new club to add to the list at R.C.H.S. It’s the F.B.L.A., a club for future business leaders. The club is in its early stages and they have not yet elected officers.
Friday, Dec. 1, there was a combination pep-rally and awards ceremony held sixth period in the gymnasium. Mr. Finch, Miss Spieker and Miss Nelson gave out awards for Cross Country, Varsity basketball and JV basketball.
Mr. Logan recognized the JV players and managers while Mr. Moffett introduced the varsity players. The varsity players had a warm up session for the students and teachers.
Both JV and varsity cheerleaders psyched the students and players up for the Saturday night game at Clarke County. This was the Panthers first basketball game and they played the Clarke County Eagles at Clarke County. The JV’s started out their season right, with a hard fought victory over the Eagles. High scorer for the Panthers was Jimmy Tomko with 15 points; then Ernie Fletcher with 7, followed by Chris Foster with 2 points. Jimmy was high rebounder,

Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Coffey III of Sperryville are the parents of a son, Frank Daniel IV, bom November 29, 1978 in Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Grandparents of the infant are Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Coffey, Jr. of Sperryville and Mr. and Mrs. Burrell C. Woodard of Flint Hill.
Great grandparents are Mrs. Frank D. Coffey, Sr. of Sperryville, Mrs. Robert Nethers of Flint Hill and Mrs. Esta Woodard of Front Royal.
