Nol Putnam, Ann’s husband is an artistblacksmiths His control of form in iron combined with the delicacy of his designs belies the medium in which he works. Grills, pot racks and various implements for the fireplace and stove are( formed under his hammer, i June Jordan is a potter who works with earthy stoneware. Rich browns, tans and blues abound in her carefully shaped pieces, both functional and decorative. Recently, she has been experimenting with bird forms —some are just to admire as sculpture and others may be used to steep tea.
Wayne Jenkins, June’s husband, scours the countryside looking for antique tools for his collection at the Rush River Company. He always provides an interesting assortment.
Joyce Kramer selects the wide collection of books at the shop, most of which deal with crafts. She also offers books by local authors and an assortment of works on country living.
Peter Kramer, furniture maker, is the final member of the cooperative. Working with designs based on the 17th and 18th centuries, he creates a large variety of oneof-a-kind pieces, displayed at Rush River and in his showroom down the street.

Meeting
Anyone interested in a farmer’s market for Rappahannock County will meet at Washington Baptist Church on December 7 at 7:30 p.m. to hear a report from the Continuations Committee. Among points for discussion will be a prospective site for a market and regulations to be observed.
Basic information will also be available. A delegation from Winchester which helped to rebuild the farmer’s market in that area is expected to attend and contribute information oil their experience.
