Irin reported that RLEFs top legislative priority, as a member of the Conservation Council of Virginia, was to lobby for repeal, followed by work for amendments to improve the Agricultural and Forestal Districts Act and passage of a state-wide bottle bill.
Irwin asked Miller for his reaction to RLEP’s proposal for rewording on recently passed ordinance amendments that allow commercial recreation as a use by right on slopes over 14 per cent. According to Irwin, RLEP will request the Supervisors to revise the amendments to allow commercial recreation with a special use permit on land zoned conservation.
