Joyce Starks' two market hogs were purchased for 70 and 71 cents per pound. Ron and Don Dougherty, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dougherty of Washington, sent hogs weighing 210 and 185 pounds under the auctioneer’s hammer for TT'A and 77 cents per pound. Club supporters also bought Deidre Coombs’ 105 pound market lamb for $1.30 per pound. Deidre is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Coombs of Flint Hill.
Other county 4-H’ers who showed breeding lambs and swine that weren’t offered for sale included Jane Kidwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kidwell, Jr. of Castleton, Amanda and Charlotte Magee, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. James Magee of Amissville, Terry Jordan, son of Mr. gad Mrs. Otis Jordan of Amissville and Kim Helmer, daughter erf Mr. and Mrs. Richard Helmer of Castleton.
