Part of the ceiling was also done by a contractor. The architects Baughan and Baukhages worked on a cost basis, and Ed Clark did much of the early carpentry work. Paul Walker is acting as general manager, and he now has Sid Mank doing managerial work too.
The main long-term financing is being supplied by the Farmer's Home Administration, and temporary financing is being greatly assisted by the Rappahannock National Bank.
Still other individuals committed to helping construct the new fire department building and many volunteers who worked for a brief period must also be thanked for their time and generosity. The great willingness of the Washington community to help in this project is a tribute to the concern townspeople have for each other.
